The Societá di Danza of Padova was founded with the purpose of gathering individuals with a common passion for dance and is aimed at developing a social culture based on the traditional Scottish and nineteenth-century dances. Both are group dances where every individual interacts with all other dancers. It is not an escape back in time, or a masquerade, but an exploration of the large mines of knowledge that past generations of dance teachers have left us and for a long time we have not been able to use.

SOCIETÁ DI DANZA PADOVANA

EVENTS

The events of the Association are special occasions organized by single circles, often in collaboration with other public and private organizations; any registered members who so wish may participate by wearing their nineteenth-century outfit. Friends from other circles may also join in local events.

COURSES

In addition to learning the steps, dances and culture of the nineteenth century, dancing in a group allows to learn and practice the respect for others, the ability to communicate with the look, the gallantry, politeness and good manners. You learn that your personal contribution to dance group is important and essential for the success of the same. You learn to use your head because "copying" is not possible. You learn patience with oneself and with others. The intellectual capacity and memory are continually stimulated and trained as well as the logic and sense of space. All this, in an atmosphere of joy and good fun..
